State Senator-elect Scott E. Hutchinson was appointed by Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati to serve as Chairman of the Senate Intergovernmental Operations Committee for the 2013-14 Legislative Session.
The 10-member Intergovernmental Operations Committee has jurisdiction over proposals to restructure state government, such as consolidating state agencies, with the purpose of cutting costs and improving efficiency.
“I am looking forward to this new opportunity,” Senator-elect Hutchinson said. “The fiscal realities make it even more imperative that state government operate in the most efficient manner possible. We should always be working toward implementing structural changes that improve state services and programs while saving taxpayers’ money.”
